About

History

The Douglas County Farmers Market began in 1994 in the parking lot of Gove's grocery store on Diamond Lake Highway. It quickly grew and moved to the parking lot of the Bon Marche next to the mall. At one time there were many nurseries and hobbiest selling a huge variety of plants and it became known for its great variety of nursery stock. Years later it has evolved into a nice mix of produce, crafts, delicious food......breads!.....still a great variety of plants. The innovative ideas of the new Farmers Market Board have created a fine place for Douglas County residents to shop for locally produced products.

Mission

We enhance the community by promoting small local farmers and producers, strengthening the local economy, and facilitating heathier nutrition, while bringing people together in a festive atmosphere.
